I tried to submit a nomination but when I submitted the response page said. You nominated:

and then nothing. I just wanted to make sure my nomination had been counted. Trying to resubmit says I have submitted already? Is there anyway you can check if my vote is counted?

I can delete your record to try again, if you like. I'll need your details to do so, though.

Ok, I've deleted your record if you want to give it another bash?

I just submitted my nominations and the page came back with something like my first 15 categories and then gave an error message.

Marionette - I've deleted you from our list of nominators, so you should be able to try it again. If you get the error message again, would you mind posting it here with a list of your nominations so I can manually check your nominations went in and replicate the situation that lead to the error. That would help me a lot thanks.

Hi there.

The nominations.asp page doesn't support apostrophes in nomiations.

I entered a nomination for "Alan Moore's Magic Words" and the script fell over with a database error.

You probably want to think about escaping apostrophes and other reserved characters in your SQL command.

Could you also blank my nominations please, so that I can complete them properly ?

Thanks,

Chris Lynch

Ok, this is now fixed and you've been removed from the db so you can remake the nomination.

Well, to prevent more spam on these forums with another topic, I have a question.

I have my own email host. Along with that, me and my room mate only have 1 computer at the present time. However, when she tries to use the voting section, she gets this message:
Your Vote:

ERROR! We already have a vote registered to you. Please contact us via our forums if there is a problem.

Is it due to the same IP address that is causing the problem or is it because of the unique host (unlike Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, etc..)?

Would you mind giving it another try now? It should work now but get back to me if it doesn't.

I let my room mate try, it worked for her. Then I tried again, only selecting 1 person that I did like but didn't vote for the first time around. It gave me the same error. I am guessing that I would have to wait in upwards of an hour before trying again. Though my main concern is over, I am rather curious why it wouldn't allow it now. I doubt that anyone else that I provide e-mail accounts for will try to vote, but is there anything that they could do just incase? Such as waiting a certain period of time. Thanks for your help though and your time working on this site =)

I did not delete your vote - so it should have rejected you voting the second time, but I am happy to double check your vote went in. Send me a PM with 2 email addresses and I will double check the DB for your votes.

Well,
I do have many different email accounts on my own host. They all have the same domain name, which is the one I host, however, my personal one and my website one are the two that I used. The first one was accepted and the second one was rejected. Only after I waited a day did it allow my room mate to vote. I will, of course, send you the ones that I've used (well, the ones that should have been used atleast).

Please remember, it is not one vote per email address but one vote per person. There is checking in place to prevent multiple votes from people.

That is understandable, and perfectly acceptable. I was just trying to find a reason as to why it was blocking my domain. I believe the last email address I used only had 2 or 3 selected. Though, if you wish to delete all of the votes that were made from my domain, that would be perfectly reasonable. After all, I would like to try to keep this as fair as possible for everyone.
Thank your for your time though.
